Skin peels or chemical peels are a popular and effective way of improving the quality and appearance of your skin. Most superficial chemical peels are completely painless. A solution is applied to the skin for a set length of time. Chemical skin peels are one of the most effective ways to treat signs of aging, discolouration, acne and scarring, texture and UV damage.

Pre-treatment guidelines
Prior to receiving the chemical peel treatment, clients should prepare their skin in the following way:
- Avoid self-tanning products
- Discontinue the use of tanning beds at least two weeks prior to a chemical peel
- Avoid extensive sun exposure, particularly in the 10 days prior to the scheduled peel
- Avoid the use of facial exfoliating products for 48 hours
- No facial waxing, epilation or skin bleaching agents 7 -14 days prior to treatment
Post treatment guidelines
Following the chemical peel, you will notice some changes in their skin prior to achieving the final result.
- Flaking and peeling of the skin post-peel is not uncommon, unless a superficial peel has been performed.
Superficial peels have little to no downtime, so shedding may not be experienced. - Those with lighter skin complexions may notice a little redness following a chemical peel.
- A hydrating serum to restore water levels in the skin.
- To minimise side effects of the peel please use UVA/UVB sunscreen of SPF 30/50 should to protect the skin.
- Scrubs or any other form of mechanical exfoliation should not be used on the skin for 7-10 days.
